Growing Local NOLA

We are a New Orleans urban farm that brings sustainable food production, free health-supportive community classes, and comprehensive agriculture training to our Central City neighborhood and beyond.

In addition to our own farm site, we partner with others through the Growing Local On the Geaux program to create community green and garden spaces around the city for free community classes and events.

Recirculating Farms has worked to promote water-based growing throughout the U.S. for over 13 years — a cause that’s been going strong for decades. Our farm, Growing Local NOLA, demonstrates how a working aquaponic in our hometown of New Orleans can contribute to climate smart local food production and build a safer, healthier, and cleaner environment for everyone to enjoy. Through bringing residents on-site to see the possibilities, we’re developing a movement toward more and better community-driven farming.
